Marcus is a Melbourne-based artist and performer whose work moves between solitary experimentation and interdisciplinary collaboration combining theatrical, choreographic and aural forms. His work seeks to interpret the world through the manifestation of metanarratives, microutopias and megajokes.

Marcus has worked with an array of international artists and companies including Michael Portnoy / Steirischerherbst (USA/AT); Gavin Quinn / Pan Pan Theatre (IR); Tim Crouch / Unicorn Theatre (UK); Hermann Nitsch (AT) / Dark Mofo; and Xavier Le Roy (FR) / Kaldor Public Art Projects.

In Australia Marcus has performed for Malthouse Theatre; Belvoir Street Theatre; Red Stitch Theatre; Opera Australia; Arena Theatre; One Step At A Time Like This; MKA; Elbow Room; Arthur Theatre; Last Tuesday Society; Artisan Collective; Pony Express; Shian Law; Geoffrey Watson; Jai Leewrothy and Mark Wilson.

Recent solo projects include the Green Room and Fringe Award nominated HYPERSPIRIT for Melbourne Fringe; and a piece for FLUX-KIT-MEL / MEL&NYC at the National Gallery Of Victoria. For Next Wave Festival 2018 he performed with House of Vnholy in Seer and co-created Apokalypsis with Charles Purcell & Zak Pidd. 

In 2018 he undertook a residency at PA-F, France, and in 2017 he participated in the Melbourne Festival Directors’ Lab. His new solo work, Subliminal Massage, will be presented in 2020.

Marcus graduated from Victorian College of The Arts Drama in 2010. In the past 12 months he has received fellowships from both Mike Walsh Foundation and Ian Potter Cultural Trust.
